The achievements have good references, but most of them are just beating the game (which makes me wonder why there's an enemy and food goal for a level anyways?), and the developers haven't responded to any comments on the forums. There is a terrible lack of consistency some times cheese will count towards a food goal total and not other times, some levels have an enemy count that is off, double jump sometimes works when you walk off a ledge but rarely, sometimes you're auto fire will stop. Basic features are missing such as most option (there's only the option to turn off the TV effect), a credit scroll, controller remapping and game play feature's you'd expect to be there like like jumping down through a platform. The short version of it is that it feels like there was a lack of care put into it. Its not exactly a BAD game, but its far from a good game. Overall, I had good fun, but it's not necessarily something I'm going to come back to very often.Īs someone who plays a lot of retro platformer games, it sucks that I can't recommend this game in good faith. Everything else is pretty streamlined, so it's baffling that this in particular fell through the cracks. It also would have been nice to have a quick weapon switch button instead of a restart level button on my Y, since I usually just stuck with the default weapon since it's one shot with higher damage to balance with the multi-shot weapons that deal less, mostly because it was a bit too much of a pain to remember the options button, move to the gun menu, and then decide what I want for the given situation.

It's sad, though, because some extra challenges besides a self imposed task to get all the seemingly useless cherries would definitely entice me to return. Although, considering the current rate of people that have managed to grab the Holy Grail is a mere 6.9% (again, it took me only two hours to complete all the levels, most of which have all enemies killed and cherries grabbed), I'm guessing the devs weren't expecting this to hold anyone's interest for long enough.

Honestly, I sorta expected to find some extra achievements, like 'beat all levels using only the starting weapon' or something, but nope. I take my time in games, but this only took me 2 hours to finish.
